Wet paint!

I had found a few old bottles around the farm and as much as I tried they still would not come clean. On the weekend I decided I  would paint them and distress them a little. Well, the painting got done but not the distressing! I am very impatient and as soon as I had slapped the paint on (yes, I was going for a vintage look!) I wanted to use them on a table, hence then heading ‘Wet paint’. I felt they needed a little something on them so they weren’t quite so plain so I found some of my old earrings from the 70’s and took the backs off and glued them to the bottles before I painted them. As you will see, I had to place the bottles on a white platter to stop the paint from getting on my dining table!!  Ah, the things we do!

I see in one of the photos the gremlins have been and shifted a fork a little! How come I don’t see these things until I look back at the photos?

  11. Doggone those gremlins! They hit my house on occasion, too! I don't think anyone else but us notices the results of their antics, though! :-) This is really beautiful! I love all the white accented with the deep brown placemats. Great choice on those! They really make the white jump out even more! I think you showed incredible patience to just paint the bottles. I HATE to paint anything!!!!! Distressing would TOTALLY be out of the question for me...not even a consideration! WAY too impatient for that! Great idea to add pieces of jewelry for a more 3-D effect!!!
