Actually, it's really more like an outside-in tablescape! I started setting my table outside on an old wooden table I had painted purple years ago. As you can see, it has really faded and the paint has started to peel. As soon as I started the rain started sprinkling down - I guess this is what happens in winter!!
I was in such a hurry my flatware isn't even straight!! I do love the look of the old table though.
I had made this rustic old fence years ago (about the same time I painted the table!) to section off part of the garden. It is made from old jam posts and twisted wire.
These happy pansies are in some old bottles I had found and cleaned but in my hurry I really didn't get a proper photo of them.
Lavender and rafia - two of my favourite things!
Down came the rain.....at this stage there was a mad rush to pack everything up and get inside.
Gorgeous purple flowers with drops of water on them look great with the burlap runner.
Now we are safely inside my sunroom. I was past setting another complete table at this stage so I just set out one place setting and quickly took a few more snaps.
I don't know why I just didn't start in here......

Lovely table and the pansies make me want some cool spring weather. It's been 95-100 degrees here in Colorado and I'm weary of the heat! Lavender is right at the top of my favorite colors list!♥♫
ReplyDeleteBeautiful setting ... I love the lavender and raffia touch! your table setting was wonderful ... we need some rain here .. please send it our way. We are in a heat wave this summer. xo HHL

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. The primitive table, burlap, and rafia against the colors of purple, lavender, and white make such a beautiful contrast. I tend to think of purples as formal. This has a sense of unexpected beauty. I'm so glad I clicked your link.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you started outside. I loved seeing your pretty table. The raindrops just added to the perfection for me. We are longing for rain. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your table and fence. This tablescape is so romantic, rain drops and all.

I am in love with your chippy wood table! I am a big fan of the lavander with the burlap too, such a beautiful contrast.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, pity you couldn't sit and enjoy it before the rain! The colours are lovely and you've done a great job with the styling.
ReplyDeleteThe combination of the lavender color with the burlap and raffia is so pretty. I like that you weren't skimpy with the raffia...it really looks good when used in abundance. So it rains in winter there? We get snow....lots and lots of snow. Sometimes ice storms, which are never a good time! :-( Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteJust like lavender, this is such a soothing and beautiful tablescape. I love the softness of the lavender napkins and the wispy raffia ties as well as those beautiful pansies. Thanks for dodging the rain drops to share this lovely setting with us.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely table in my colour :)
