Mother’s Day

I had such a lovely Mother’s Day. I had coffee with my Mum at my sister’s coffee shop on Sunday morning. We live 80 kms away from my Mum and I hadn’t expected to see her but Mr FH had a bit of a drama on Friday night and lost the crown off his front tooth so it was a quick trip to the dentist on Sunday morning. Yes, we do know our dentist well!! LOL We then went to a local game of football where we met up with DNo2 and her cute little girls. We spent the afternoon with them and some good friends of ours. SNo 1 drove from the city and met us for dinner at our local pub and he is staying with us for a few days. I love having him home to stay!! I had stayed with DNo 1 and her husband and boys on Thursday and Friday so I’d had an early catch up with them. All around it was a lovely day. I received some lovely flowers, chocolates, hand cream and body scrub from my beautiful kids. I went to bed last night feeling happy and grateful.

New look store

Our local Freedom store has had an update.  I always find something there I need to buy but now the whole place has had a revamp and it is just gorgeous. Lots of gorgeous colours and textures.
How simple is this table??? I love how they have used different chairs on each side.

There was an amazing display of lamps. Some were nearly as tall as me and others had the cutest burlap shades.

Lots and lots of coloured tableware.  Napkins, bowls, glassware and everything else you could want.

The only thing I bought were the moss balls (which my Mum thought I called moth balls!!!). I would love some of these beautiful yellow mats......

Sunday morning at the garden centre.

Last week when Mr FH and I were babysitting our two grandsons we decided to take them out for morning tea to a nearby nursery. Actually, the truth is the noise levels were getting a bit high so we took them out to share them around!! Do you ever do that?? We had a lovely morning just wandering around this pretty nursery in the dappled sunlight. We loved all the quirky little featured the staff had added to the displays. The huge established trees were magnificent.

Here’s our two little boys – not sure about this giraffe.

This is where we had our morning tea. Sorry no photos- I was busy trying to make sure there weren’t any spillages.

We have just noticed our neighbours at the beach house have planted a Ficus  like this on our fence line. Somehow I think we need to talk!!

What a great idea this was….little kids riding bikes all over the place and just so happy to be there with Mum and Dad.
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning.

Aqua Love!

To celebrate the fact that our long hot summer is coming to an end I set a bright table with pretty picnic ware. Actually, I found the melamine plates and bowls in my pantry (long forgotten!!) and thought if I didn’t use them now I would have to wait until next spring. I also have the salad plates but for todays table I used some fun striped plates I had. Just love the colours.  Actually I also found a brand new pair of shoes in that beautiful aqua (not in my pantry!!) that I still hadn’t worn so I wore them on the weekend too before it gets too cold!   Sorry I just got sidetracked!!  The table was simple and bright. Gorgeous woven white chargers and lots of fun elements completed the table. I even had the matching napkins – yes, these were all purchased at the grocery store!!  Haha!  Just lovely for a bit of summer fun.

I am on two weeks school break starting this week – I can’t wait. Hopefully I’ll have time to catch up with my house work. Living between two houses and spending half the time in each gets a little hard to keep up with.

Good Morning, Sunshine

IMG_4003aa
We had a beautiful morning today……the sun was shining, there was a gentle breeze and there was a slight mist in the distance. I’m so ready for the weather to change – it has been one long hot summer here in Australia.
Time for a breakfast tray. I love all these cute black and white patterns. The hounds tooth fabric on the bottom of the tray was given to me by my Mum recently. It is so cute and had the price tag of 5/-.  That is 5 shillings!!!!  Australia changed to dollars and cents in 1966 (I think!!) so this has been stashed away in the cupboard for a while! I adore the little black and white bird cage bowls – just perfect for cereal or fresh fruit.
I have added a cute yellow egg candle to the white egg cup.
This all spells a beautiful sunny morning to me…..

I have been baby sitting my grandchildren a bit lately and have just returned from the beach house today so I am feeling a little worn out tonight. I have a whole day at home tomorrow by myself…I can’t wait to just potter around.

Pink for girls, blue for boys!!

I know Easter has been and gone but I have one last set of photos to share with you all. Last week I used blue and yellow melamine plates for my table and now I’m sharing the pink and green version. As I have two grandsons and two granddaughters I could not resist either set – both purchased after Easter last year! I simply added the pink and green plates and few extras bits and pieces to my kitchen dresser which I had decked out in lovely green and white for summer. You can see it here …… lovely and fresh for summer.

How much cuter does it look here all in it’s Easter glory??

How lucky was I?? I had bought my self this bunch of liliums at a market on the way home from the beach house and when they opened they were the perfect match for my Easter dresser.  I promise this is the last of Easter decor from me for this year.
