Pansies or roses?

Well, hello to you all.I have bought myself a tripod for my camera - I have problems holding my camera still and the more I try the worse I get!!  Anyone else have this problem??
Today I did a little tablescape outside even though it was a little windy it was good practice.

I started off using my pretty pansy teapot, creamer and sugar bowl as the table runner I used has purple in it but it wasn't quite right so I changed it to a lovely rose set I have.  I think I like the pink better.

I am enjoying a little winter sunshine today. Tomorrow I'm back to work......

What a difference a day makes.

On Friday Mr FH and I headed off to our beach house for the weekend. We had to go via our capital city for an appointment and also to pick up some furniture SonNo 1 no longer needed. As the day wore on the weather got worse and worse. We really needed rain for our crops and rain we got!! No much to do at the beach house when it's pouring so we headed off to a nearby coffee shop and sat and watched the rain. The waves at the beach were amazing - so glad I wasn't out there trying to stay afloat!

Saturday morning arrived and this was my view from our balcony - what a change. Everything looked just sparkling after the lovely rain. We are expecting more tomorrow so that will keep the farmers happy!!

The house you can so in the distance (with the orange tiled roof) was one we looked at when we bought ours last year. It is just across the road from the beach which was lovely but it just didn't have any character - just like a square box actually. So glad we bought the one we did!!

Weekend Wineries

We visited some of the most gorgeous wineries over the weekend. Everything about them was just so beautiful. I could have stayed there forever.

This whole area is known for it's lush pastures and magnificent grape vines. Lucky this year has provided a decent rainfall which has helped to provide this. I loved the gnarly old grape vines on the end of the cellar door. The whole weekend was just so relaxing and it was lovely to be able to enjoy this with my sisters and cousins.

Weekend Retreat

I have just returned from my annual weekend retreat with my cousins - there are eight of us and we have just enjoyed our 11th weekend away. We have a wonderful weekend of eating, drinking and being merry!! This year we travelled to the wonderful wine growing area of Western Australia. We usually fit in lots of shopping and this year was no exception. There are some wonderful kitchen shops which caught our attention as most of us are fond of cooking (and eating!!) and I took these photos of the gorgeous china which was in the most amazing colours.

We also visited some wineries and wandered along the back roads. It is a real tourist area so there was much to look at. We had dinner at the Aravina Winery which was really lovely (I have photos to share later) and just relaxed and enjoyed the company and the weather. I came home last night and was very tired today. Back to work tomorrow and Wednesday then my final photography lesson on Wednesday night. Life is a little hectic at the moment.....

Seasonal Sunday

Not sure if many of you know what this is..........I'm joining SeasonalSunday@TheTablescaper so I thought I would show   you just what we have been up to here at the farm house in Australia. As we are coming into winter we (I mean Mr FH) has been planting our crops - we grow wheat, oats and barley.

The machine doesn't look so big here but trust me it is way too big for me to drive!! The tyres on the tractor are a lot taller than I am!

Now this is where I am today.....finally after five weeks of being flat out on the farm we have come to our beach house for the weekend. It's way too cold for swimming but lovely to be able to just hang out. We plan on going out for a relaxing breakfast in the morning - this is the life!!

Strawberry Shortcake

I seem to be drawn towards gorgoeus red china lately.  I recently purchased these lovely salad plates which have the yummy name of strawberry shortcake. How mouth watering is that!!! I have set this weeks table out on the porch again. I am just loving this beautiful autumn weather we having over the last couple of weeks. The days are sunny with the most wonderful blue skies. Some nights we have been getting a bit of gentle rain - just what we need after the longest, hottest summer ever!!!!

Simple white chargers top a pretty red and white toile cloth. Plain red napkins complete the setting.

The polka dot cups are such fun. I have been looking for spotted dinnerware for ages and have recently found some - not in bright colours as I was expecting but it is in gorgeous autumn tones (I will share this with you later).

I bought this cute red and white flatware for $15 a set. It is so gorgeous - I'm really loving it.

I have had this white coffee set for ages but it looked perfect with the red and white china.

I used some pretty faux tulips and added some fresh greenery to the vase.

I love how the colours are so clear and bright when the table is set out in the sunshine.

I don't know why someone didn't think to mix and match china many years ago - it is so much fun and amazing how many different looks that can be achieved.

 Cute handles!!

Coffee anyone? I love the edge of this lovely white plate - just wish I had a complete dinner service!

Isn't that border on the salad plate just so cute??

Lots of red happiness!

Please sit down and join me...
