Just add a bit of bling...

I have had many comments on the pretty pink cup and saucer in my header so I thought I would share with you the story how I come to have them.

I actually found 6 matching cups, saucers and plates in perfect condition (all wrapped individually in newspaper) in a cardboard box in the store room at our old farmhouse!  Boy, did my little heart miss a beat when I was unwrapping them and found there was a complete set.

This is where they live in their very un-glamorous state in everyday life - they fill the top shelf of a very old shabby dresser I have in my kitchen- dining room.

As you all probably realise by now I have a real soft spot for china - mainly pink and green with roses!

Today I have set out my pink cups on a mirror off my bathroom wall - I thought they could do with a bit of bling so I added a few pieces I had on hand.

I set two of the cups up on my mercury glass candle holders to add some height to the display.

I love the way everything is reflecting in the mirror.

A piece of pale pink chiffon certainly fits in well with all these gorgeous treasures.

Can you see my keyring with diamonds(?) in the shape of an 'S'?

I am on holidays from my 'real' job at school at the moment but I'm going into my sister's gift shop to 'play' with some displays tomorrow. I'll take my camera to get some happy snaps to share with you.

Suzy

You do have such beautiful china and you have displayed it beautifully. I would never have thought to put a teacup on a candlestick, but I think it looks stunning. The cups filled with jewelry is another wonderful idea. Very pretty and creative. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

What a rare talent you have for photography! The tea set is beautiful and photographing it on a mirror was inspired! But I have to admit your mercury glass candlesticks are to die for. I love mercury glass, I don't have any yet but my heart jumps whenever I see it. Beautiful!

What beautiful teacups...and what a beautiful way you photographed them. They are gorgeous all by themselves, but they are exquisite on the mirror, with the jewels and crystal, etc. (the bling!!)

What a lucky gal you are to have discovered them. I wonder who bought them and why they put them in the storeroom. Why pack away such beauty!?

Have a wonderful day,

What a stunning tea setting you created with your bathroom mirror!!! And don't say that they look unglamorous where you normally keep them because i think your hutch is just charming and quite glamorous!!

Hi Suzy,
You have such pretty china, and a real knack for displaying them, even in their "everyday" place! I love the mirror and the keychain, too!
Sorry about the giveaway restrictions, I know it's not fair. But do you know what shippingfrom CA to your lovely country costs?? I could fly out and meet you for lunch for less!! Which is not a bad idea!
One day I'll have a special giveaway just for you girls in faraway lands. I do appreciate your loyalty in following my blog, it means a lot to me.
Have a great weekend.
