Soup and sunshine

Tablescaping time again!! How fast are the weeks just flying by…..our season is definitely changing very fast. The mornings are getting a little crisp but by afternoon the sun has warmed things up a little.
The sun was streaming in through the window on Monday so I set a table ready for a lunch for two – soup bowls ready for something to warm our tummies and lovely bright colours to hang onto the last of summer.
I had bought these placemats quite a while ago. They came in two different colours (you can see the other table here) so I purchased both. I haven’t used these blue/green ones much yet but I did pick up these lovely water glasses at Red Dot (similar to Dollar Tree, I think) hoping they would go with the placemats and I was thrilled to see they were a perfect match.
The spotted plates are a new purchase (I’d been watching them for ages and finally they were on sale!!) and also the white lattice plates. They were a real steal – $15 for 12 pieces!! Just love that!  I can’t believe the flatware was such a perfect match too!!

PERFECT summertime colors! These colors always remind me of ice cream even though I've never eaten blue or green ice cream in my life! Maybe it's Popsicles I'm thinking of. Whatever....they are colors that make me feel good and happy! GREAT placemats, and they really go well with the glassware. Red Dot...I Googled it, and it's more like our Old Time Pottery. At Dollar Tree, everything in the store is $1. EVERYTHING!!! Old Time Pottery, despite the name, has almost no pottery in it. Weird. It does, however, have really great prices on a wide variety of items. Absolutely lovely table, and I hope you are able to hold onto a bit more of the warm weather. Have a beautiful day!

That shade of blue and green happens to be the color combo I'm the most drawn to right now. I like the "happy" feeling of it. I can't believe you got such a perfect match from so many different places. Clearly, it was all just meant to be together! The centerpiece is pretty too.

I L-O-V-E those polka dot plates! The whole tablescape is great. It just says summmer to me. I'd love to see it in my kitchen any day!!

Target had green polka dot bowls in the $ section and all I could find was 3 of them. I cbought them anyway.

Green and aqua is a stellar combination. Love the striped glasses and aqua flatware. The green apple is a great addition popping out in the white bowl. Spring has sprung for you, and your lucky guests. Enjoy! ~CJ
