Candy striped Tuesday

This week I really needed a cuppa... we spent last weekend helping DNo 1 and her husband and young son shift house! Need I say more?  It is amazing how much 'stuff' we all accumulate. She had only been living in this house for 6 months and I have been at the farm house for 33 years so I hate to think how I could get all of my junk moved.

I bought two of these pretty cups a couple of years ago with the idea of smashing them up and using them for a mosaic but I just can't seem to bring myself to take to them with the hammer.

Pretty little daisies always make me smile. When everything else in the garden has finished there are always a bunch of daisies to pick.

Aren't these little sugar hearts just the cutest things? I'm so glad most of my friends don't take sugar so I can just use these for show LOL! I have used a side plate from my collection of Robert Gordon china which you can see here.

Mr FH picked this old stool up one day when he took the rubbish to the tip (on a farm you have to take your own rubbish to the tip!) so he brought it home for me. It was ugly brown and much higher so I sawed the legs off and painted it pink!

What a happy little spring flower - such pretty colours.

I covered my little tea bag tag with pretty paper - I find them very ugly so I always do this when I have friends coming.

Hi Suzy!
What a fun post and your photos are darling!
Is that a pink pointsettia you have there?! Such a perfect pink!
I collect little old chippy painted stools and your "tippy" one would be right at home here :-)
I can tell you are a talented creative soul - wrapping your teabags - and a wonderful hostess too!!
I had a nice visit today!!

Hello Suzi,
What beautiful photographs you take! Your setting is lovely, the cup is playful and pretty at the same time. I am impressed that you cover the tag on the tea!
I think the stool is a fab find and you prettied it up nicely.
Thanks so much for joining in Tea Cup Tuesday.

Hi Suzy,
I love your soft pinks! The poinsettia is gorgeous and so is your stool! Love the soft candy sripes of the china too and that little pink sugar heart is darling! I've never seen those before. I love your idea of covering the tea bag tags! Lots of creative spirit here. Thanks for sharing, it's been a real pleasure! Hope you have a wonderful week.

Blessings,

I am enamored with your words today! Not only the pictures of your lovely tea set, but your words made me smile. As a Texan, we just 'move' from one house to another, but the phrase 'shift house' sounds much more elaborate!!! And what about 'rubish to the tip'!!! That's a new one to me too! Is the tip a dump or something?? Love it!
The pink poinsettia on the floor there is so pretty!! The pinks all go together beautifully. Wish I lived nearby...I'd like to try one of the sugar hearts!!!! (you'd probably need to hide them from me...I'd take two!!) Just kidding, they're precious!
Blessings, Doni

Totally pinkolicious! I'm so glad you didn't take a hammer to these lovely pieces. Stripes are always a winner! Love the entire vignette. I could sit and stay for hours. The little extra touch of covering the teabag tag is a wonderful idea. I think I'm going to do this as a gift for friends. Thanks for the idea. ~ Sarah

Your striped china is so fresh, crisp, and pretty! I'm so glad you didn't smash them for a mosaic although, I'm sure it would be lovely, too! The daisies are the perfect complement to your cup of tea!

Oh that is so pretty in pink, perfect for Spring there! Those sugars are too cute, I'd have to smack the chubby little hand that tried to use one, LOL!
I tried to follow, but I can't figure it out!

It was wonderful that you took the time to stop in for tea last week. The stripes and daisies just say "Happy to be here" I love the heart shaped sugar. Did you make them? or purchse them? I would love to share them with friends. I am still in catch up mode from my trip but tea is being. Hope you can join the fun!
Have a blessed week.
