Going green on the porch

Yahoo!! Finally the drought has broken!!! We had a severe storm here at the farm house on Saturday and finally received some much needed rain. We were actually at the beach house babysitting little Miss L when the storm hit (which I am thankful for as it was particularly nasty!) and came home yesterday to have some lovely water in our dams. We have been carting water for our stock for some time now so that will no longer be needed. The whole countryside is looking very fragile and has been damaged from strong summer winds. Hopefully now we have turned the corner and are on the way to a much better season.

I have just found a wonderful porch party which is being held at Gypsy Brocante's blog each Monday. What a lovely way to start the week!! Many years ago we enclosed our back porch to make a sunroom so I'm guessing that is allowed to join the porch party!!

After packing away the Christmas decorations I decided on a lovely green tablescape for my old cupboard in the sunroom.

Lovely old depression glass started the display then it was just a matter of finding things to match.

I love this little birdhouse. The sunroom is the perfect place to display it. How cute is that glass knob perch!!

Pretty plates off the kitchen dressers filled in the gaps!!

My mum gave me this pretty little set of drawers for my birthday a couple of years ago. The colours match the farm house perfectly.

I have a small collection of depression glass - some I have found in the old farm house, some I have bought from antique shops and some I have bid for on e-bay and been lucky enough to win.

This fluted lolly dish is probably my favourite - it's so dainty with it's pretty frills around the edge.

How pretty is this cute shabby cupboard....

I have a little of this pale green china - I wish I had bought the complete set years ago as I really love it now.
