Fancypants Dinner

I had a great time on the weekend…we went to the beach house again (probably the last time for a while….) and had our eldest daughter and her husband and two gorgeous boys come for a couple of nights. I had been to Perth to watch Mary Poppins at the theatre (just fabulous!!) and do a little shopping on Friday.
My niece had asked me to set a table for her monthly dinner group called Fancypants. What a great name!! They meet once a month – every second month is at a restaurant and the other month at a member’s home.
This month was C’s turn. She is living in my sister’s townhouse at the moment which sits right on the water so I felt a beachy look was the way to go. The dining table is white washed and beachy looking so that part was really easy.
I used her flatware and white china and added my soft blue napkins. The large blue bowl in the centre was hers but I added my white cake stand and topped it with candles. We layered the table – white cloth, taupe runner and woven mats that were all in her cupboard. I just added the jute around the candles and also the flatware.
I think the table looks just fabulous with the gorgeous wall print behind. Reports are they all had a great time.

This is super cool, Suzy! Literally! It looks refreshingly cool and breezy! I'm sure the FancyPants folks loved every detail!!! You CAN do this for a living, y'know. I'm teaching which allows me to do it, and I also work with occasional clients. I'll just bet one of the local colleges has a community education department that is in need of such an instructor!!!!! :-)

I love this! I am decorating a table for a ladies tea on Saturday and was using all white and twine with cans. I was worrying about the all white thing, but you have boosted my confidence a ton! Thanks for sharing!
