Christmas at our house

Finally after the Christmas and New Year rush life has managed to get a little more normal. I am still at my beach house (and hope to be for a few weeks yet) and have only just sorted out my internet connection yesterday so I have a couple of weeks of reading to catch up with.
Our extended family all joined us for Christmas. Last count we had 26 on Boxing Day for lunch!! It was very hot but as we have a swimming pool that proved to be a hit with most members of the family - big and small.
We are still waiting patiently for our new grandchild (No 3) to arrive. Sometime in the next week I think we should have a beautiful new bundle to cuddle.

My table centrepiece of lots of candles in either silver, crystal or white looked great. We did however have a slight problem.....someone bumped the table and tipped most of the candles over!!! Some very quick thinking stopped the whole table catching on fire and we were able to stand the candles up and light them again. We only broke one candle stick and no damage was done.

I have these pictures to share with you BEFORE they all fell over..

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!!!

Suzy

What a beautiful setting and the photos with the candles glowing was lovely. That's a lot of wax to clean up.

What a pretty table! I love all the white and silver. Thank goodness, nothing worse happened with the toppling of the candles! Happy New Year!

What a lovely display it was before....!!! I have felt the pain of fire on a tablescape, too, so I completely understand the situation! I am almost kind of paranoid about using them now, but I still continue to do so for the sake of ambience! :-) I'm glad no one got hurt and that the damage was minimal!
