Bridal Expo

Last Thursday afternoon I made a quick trip to the city……I had just returned from Melbourne on Monday, worked Wednesday then filled my car with fuel and I was off again. (The city is 300 kms from the farm house so it’s not really just a short drive!!) I was going to join my son, his fiancé and her mother to attend a Bridal Expo which was being held at the yacht club where we have booked their wedding. We had the opportunity to taste wine and champagnes from four different wineries and also do a taste test of all the food available. We were able to make our choices from the yummy food we sampled. The tables had all been set with wonderful flower arrangements by various florists just for the night. As you will see, the styles are just so varied, all gorgeous but all a little different. We had such a lovely evening…we are all so excited and can hardly wait for the 7th of March to arrive!!

I’m sorry some of these photos are a little blurry but I quickly snapped them with my phone before too many other ‘guests’ arrived. I really love the tall autumn display – it was very tall and really spectacular. I think we are heading more towards white flowers which I’m sure will be just perfect! I do have a bit of a dilemma though….my future daughter-in-law has invited me to come look at her wedding dress but I’m not sure that I want to see it before the ‘big day’!! She thinks I’m crazy waiting for the wedding day but as yet I’m still undecided. Over the next few months I’ll make my decision.  I was so thrilled she has included me with all the planning and sharing her wedding dress with me.

What a fun event! Did you all agree on which wines and food you liked best? I especially liked the centerpieces in the first and third photos. They seemed to have a bit of a softer look than some of the others.

Oh wow, this was a fun post, I love
to see how they do wedding tables,
because they have so many good but
yet inexpensive ideas that you can
adopt for your own dinner table as well. bet this was a really fun
and delightful evening.

Suzy, thanks for taking the photos and sharing these beautiful tables. I attended something similar a few years ago, but much smaller scale. One of the florist who had been invited to set up several tables invited me to have a look. Fun to see all the creative ideas!
Weddings are so exciting. I know this is going to be a fun 8 months.

What a fun evening! Is your wedding date the 7th of March? Ours was the 9th...44 years ago. March is a lucky month. Saw you at Treasure Hunt Thursday!

I didn't see my dil's dress till the wedding, it was nice to be surprised. But then we wait for the birth to find out if it's a boy or girl! Never knew for all 5 of my gkids.
Nice of them to pick my bday to get married! :)
Don't forget the advice to the groom's mom, wear beige and keep your mouth shut. :) Well, unless you are paying for the wedding!
