MIA

I have been MIA a little lately but hopefully that is now all behind me!! I have been studying for another certificate for my job at school and have submitted a 220 question self assessment and then a 110 page portfolio to show that I am eligible for the Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) programme. Well, today I had my final assessment done – a lecturer to watch me work in the classroom and 37 pages of questions on areas they weren’t sure I had completed! I had started to doubt myself last week when I received the questions I would be asked today and some of them were totally beyond me. Yesterday we discovered that as I had 2 units with no prior learning in I needed to bring in 2 new units which we did about 6 months ago only to realise they were units for a Diploma!!! No wonder I was starting to doubt my ability!!  Thankfully I passed it all except I need to submit one more exercise (not a whole unit) to my lecturer over the next week or so and then it is done!!! Yippee!
Of course now I’m thinking maybe I should build on those 2 Diploma units and go study some more to go with it…….I think for the moment I’ll put that on the back burner and enjoy the Christmas season. I did have a little down time on the weekend…along with my two daughters we took my four beautiful little grandies to see The Wiggles. What a fun time, they just loved it. Typically the boys were star struck and wouldn’t dance but my darling little 2 year old granddaughter danced like you wouldn’t believe. Such a lovely family day.
Here on the farm today it has been a shocking day – another harvest ban due to fire risk and rain (which at this time of year is not welcome!) so I thought a nice bright summery table was the way to go. I know you are all starting to feel the cold creeping in – one day, I promise myself I’m going to have a white Christmas!

Tomorrow I have a day at home so I’m just about to bring out the Christmas decorations – yes, I know a lot of people have finished but I usually don’t do mine until 1st December.

Lovely! I don't think I could ever go back to school again. I have 60 credits beyond my Master's, but I didn't do the thesis for my PHD. And now I am retired, and I see no reason for it! Good luck with your studies.

Hi, Suzy! You have been one busy lady! I'm not completely sure how the system works in Australia, but I'm guessing that the units you refer to are something akin to a thesis? At any rate, I am very proud of your accomplishments!!! You had to really put your heart, soul and a whole lot of time into forward progress!!! Hopefully now you can take a bit of a breather! Great table, too! I LOVE the birdhouse dishes!!! Those are really cute!!!
